Tickets for four of Taylor Swift’s tour dates for 2010 sold out just two minutes after they went on sale Friday, according to Swift’s publicists.
All of the tickets that were released Friday for the 15 U.S. shows for Swift’s 2010 Fearless tour all sold out within minutes. According to her representatives, the fastest tickets to go were the four shows that are taking place in New York.
Swift, who in 2008 was the top selling artist in the U.S., will have 37 shows in 2010 in Canada and the United States as well as seven shows in Australia beginning in February.
The teenage singing star, whose hit songs include “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me,” has seen a rise in her popularity since Kayne West interrupted her acceptance speech in September at the MTV Video Music Awards where she won for best music video. West proclaimed that Beyonce should have won instead.
Earlier this month Swift received six American Music Award nominations. On November 7 she will host as well as perform on “Saturday Night Live.”
By contrast, West has canceled a concert tour that was planned for Canada and the U.S. earlier this month. He was also the victim of a death hoax over the Internet earlier in the week when there were false claims that West had died in an automobile accident in Los Angeles.
