The biggest Grammy award of the night went to Taylor Swift. Her album “Fearless” won album of the year.

Swift said, we will tell this story over and over. How in 2010 we won album of the year.

Taylor Swift also won a Grammy for best country album. In all, she won four Grammys.

Beyonce won two more Grammys than Swift for a total of six. She won for song of the year as well as best female pop vocal performance. For song of the year she won as a co-writer on “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”

Her best female pop vocal performance award was for “Halo.” The singer appeared to be nervous as she accepted her award. She thanked her family and husband, telling him she loved him. The husband of Beyonce is Jay-Z, hip-hop star.

Kings of Leon, alternative rock band, upset the favorites Swift and Beyonce and won the Grammy award for record of the year for their “Use Somebody.”

This year Kings of Leon has now won three Grammys in four nominations. They all came from last year’s album “Only by the Night.” Last year they received three nominations and won one.

Earlier during the show “Use Somebody” lost to “Single Ladies” by Beyonce for the award song of the year.

Caleb Followill, lead singer of Kings of Leon said backstage, in terms of winning Grammys the best thing is this is the first time that our families get to see our success. We will get my mom wasted.

Other Grammy winner on Sunday night included Green Day, Zac Brown Band and Stephen Colbert.

The two oldest children of Michael Jackson went to the Grammy stage to accept the lifetime achievement award for their father.

Prince Michael, the 12 year old son of Michael Jackson said during the 52nd annual Grammy Award show, we are very proud to accept the award for our father.

He also gave thanks to God for watching over them for the last seven months. He also thanked their grandparents for their support and love.

In addition Prince Michael talked about the concern his father had for the earth’s environment.

Prince Michael said, in all of his songs the message was simple. It was love. We will continue spreading his message and also help the world.

He said, daddy we love you.

Eleven year old Paris spoke next. Daddy was going to be here. Last year Daddy was going to be performing here. Daddy, we love you.

Paris and Prince Michael, along with several of their cousins, were dressed in black suits and pants with red stripes along with red armbands.

Jackson’s children made their appearance after the rousing rendition of “Earth Song,” Michael Jackson’s song. There was a Jackson recording that was accompanied by a live performance from Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson, Carrie Underwood, Usher and Celine Dion.

The best new artist Grammy was won by the Zac Brown Band. Lady Gaga, who many considered to be the biggest breakout act this year, was ruled to be ineligible for the award because last year she released a song and was also nominated for a Grammy.

Best comedy album was won by Stephen Colbert for his “A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!” Kayne West, Rihanna and Jay-Z won the Grammy for Rap/sung collaboration.

The Grammy for best rock album went to Green Day.

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day said, now Kings of Leon and I will do shots together.

Lady Gaga, who had the opening performance for the Grammys, won two awards. “Poker Face,” her single, beat out songs from Britney Spears and Madonna and the Black Eyed Peas in the category best dance recording. Her album “The Fame” won for best electronic/dance.
